Privacy isn't dead, but face surveillance technology might kill it, says civil rights advocate Kade Crockford. In an eye-opening talk, Kade outlines the startling reasons why this invasive technology — powered by often-flawed facial recognition databases that track people without their knowledge — poses unprecedented threats to your fundamental rights. Learn what can be done to ban government use before it's too late.

You are brave. Thank you.

Zero’d in top center right on the money she is. Everyone should be terrified. Everyone.

I know what it feels like to be used & unjustly matyrised by these things for years. Some people in this world will stop at absolutely nothing in order achieve absolute control & domination.
Michael Wilder
This is like the matrix … It’s real the real thing. Good information
NullReferenceException
The matrix turned people into batteries.
This is 1984.
Thomas Serrano
1984, Brave New World, The Iron Heel etc… Notice how every novel that talk about the foreseeable future always envisage a terrible dystopia.
That’s because the authors of these books, in their time, could already see at work the mechanisms and the forces that were leading society towards this dangerous path.
Aleksandar Papez
I wish everyone would see this. We are giving away our privacy. For free.
Notatheist
Google is giving away free “nest mini” devices that give them nearly total access to every sound and activity that takes place inside your most private places.
Justin Green
Yeah i was like – “Free Whaa?–OOOH-WHOA-no-thanks-lemme-back-on-outta-here…” (!!!)

Anyone reminded of the free cell phones in Kingsman?

Alexa! Are you spying on people?!
Frank Boff
Apparently I ‘won’ one …..I didn’t bother collecting my prize…
Unato Mikuba
I would go for that offer, but only so that I could resell it for cash value 🤷

In a world where everyone is over exposed
The coolest thing you can do is maintain your mystery

I thought the same thing for years, the most attractive girls I can remember were in part attractive because they remained a mystery
BvR Gameshow

“Our system fundamentally lacks the oversight and accountability mechanisms that would ensure that it would not be abused…” That goes for the Covid app and immunity passports as well.
Frank Boff
That also goes for other government and corporate systems..
People Health Truth
@Frank Boff Yes. 9:02 If one murders a baby in taxpayer funded privacy butcher shop, or does govt assisted kidnapping for control or money, it’s still a crime that should result in prison. No immunity for feminists. Judgment Day will come.
People Health Truth
12:00 Jeff Bezos? What about the biggest criminals SELLING PERSONAL information and then lying to Congress- Facebook Suckerberg and Google.
People Health Truth
9:02 No real man will want to make a baby with these les-bians, so why do they talk about their desire for abortion?
Karen Ness
@People Health Truth That’s right. Abuses, right and left.

Holy smokes 😱 thnx for all that information, dear Kade. Keep up the good fight👏

We might not be living in a matrix, but we’re creating one for sure.
AbbyPenguin333
damn
jim krahn
Bhargav Mehta if you have a birth certificate you are in the matrix
poker bruh
@jim krahn what does a birth certificate have to do with it? A friend of mine didn’t get one until starting public school when he was 15 or so and then it was all downhill after that. Maybe they sabotaged him because he was outside of the matrix too long?! JK but it is hard to get around without one…
David Shenton
As long as we keep falling over ourselves to actually pay money for an Alexa or carry a mobile phone around with non removable battery, we’ll never have privacy. We welcome them into our lives with open arms and an open microphone !

This is already out of date. The new Patriot Act Legislation has removed the legal requirement for a warrant. Law enforcement can now just look up your internet/phone data.Anytime.
NatsGhost
Luckily, Reddit, Patreon and a bunch of other tech companies not in the corporate hegemony’s control already, are trying to get the amendment removed that allows for the extension of warrantless internet search and history access by the gov. Literally no person I know of cares. They’re like, “Don’t they do that already?” Yeah! But they are trying to extend their ability to continue to do that RIGHT NOW.
Lol… We’re screwed because we aren’t vigilant. It’ll probably pass the House with the amendment included. What a good time to decide this when everyone is supremely distracted… Good at what they do…
Anne-Marie A
The Patriot Act is a great name to shroud the evil contained within.
Dick Darlington
Michigan State Police S.N.A.P. program. Look it up. Then imagine it with facial recognition AI.
Sleepy Soundzz
This is so informative. Thank you so much for posting this clip.

Pro tip: face masks (especially asymmetrical ones) mess up facial tracking software. yet another reason to wear one
Frank Boff
Because those working in facial recognition software creation didn’t think of that already?
SurfByShootin
Ive heard that AI face tracking hasnt matured enough, so they push for wearing masks to focus the attention on the eyes.
Either way, this surveillance is a problem.
Brian Fletcher
Visionaries and seers are always in the minority. Those who are emerging into that level, invariable try to take the masses with them. Perfectly undesrandable, perfectly legitimate, and also totally predictable. The emerging seer gets either extremely frustrated and despondant, or the masses turn on them, because they know no better (undervgraduates). History is full of such people. Two well known statements come to mind, one/ “judge not” because if you do, and act on it, you will get dragged back into that ” class” room, and two/ “to thine owns self, be true”.

Cute, She thinks we live in a democracy.

Is it a ‘she’?
Allen Markham
Absent speed, how is ‘face recognition’ any different that any other biologic recognition system – like fingerprints? To be meaningful the biologic has to be associated with an individual, without that it’s just a face or fingerprint of someone.
bj0rn
Very urgent and important topic. I can’t believe we haven’t been having a more thorough discussion about this the last couple of decades.
ITouchTheSky 8GladysWorld8
Thank you so much for talking of this very important argument.
ITouchTheSky 8GladysWorld8
Lovely watching and listening to you here on the top of Italian mountain.

7:21 “Google publicly has declined to ship a face surveillance product” Probably because they’ve been caught or havnt had a working product not because they have a moral conscious.
Google being sued for tracking users while in Incognito mode as of recently….. yeah, company committed to operating ethically.
The timing of this is all too convenient.
