This was a project about how a home security camera was modified and secured to the inside of a decoy owl. A decoy owl is a bird and pest repellent solution that uses a realistic-looking owl that is meant to intimidate birds and pests to avoid the area. They are typically used in a visible location to keep birds like pigeons and pests like mice away. The owl camera, therefore, can serve the function as a security or surveillance camera as well as still functioning as a decoy owl. The added motion from the rotating base actually makes the owl more effective as a bird and pest deterrent. This is because with a stationary decoy the birds and pests will eventually realize that the decoy is fake because it never moves.
